Bio - CV - Miguel Gabriel Luisi (Mike Luisi)

Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on September 19, 1974.

As a child he played piano and keyboards, influenced by his father Antonio Luisi, piano teacher, listening to him and watching him play tangos, blues and jazz among other genres. Around the age of ten he started playing harmonica, melodica and guitar intuitively, "by ear".

1989 formed Slap, a pop cover band with Martín Fuster, Leo Méndez and Mariano Kahayan. 1990 formed 3,14, a jazz and fusion group, composing and arranging standards with Mariano Kahayan on bass, Esteban Kahayan on drums and Sebastián Balan as guest saxophonist, performing in different places of the Buenos Aires jazz circuit.

1994-1995 Singing, Harmony, Audioperceptive, Body Work Popular School of the Argentine Musicians Union.

1995 Programming of synthesizers and MIDI Prof. Luis Blanco.

He has played in different types of formations and musical genres such as rock, blues, pop, funk, jazz, in performances with different artists and participating in several recordings.
1999 on tour with "El Padre César", along with Popi Spatocco, Carlos "El Negro" García López, Andrés Dulcet, Pablo Agri, Miguel "Chuky" de Ipola, Pablo Maturana, among others. In 2000 he formed a duo with the saxophonist Marina Mosenkis, and in 2001 they formed "Take Jazz", also performing as a jazz quartet, playing in the most important hotels and halls of the capital such as Caesar Park, Hilton, Sheraton Hotel & Towers Buenos Aires, Sheraton Hotel Pilar, Hotel Panamericano, Hotel Intercontinental, Alvear Palace Hotel, Crillon, Park Plaza Kempinsky, Faena Hotel + Universe, Hotel Castelar, Gran Córdoba Recepciones, Dinastía Maisit, Mirador, Danbró, Ballroom, Club Hípico, Tattersal, Museo Renault, Alianza Francesa, among others.

He has worked and is currently working for private clients and companies such as Carrefour, Telefónica de Argentina, Nokia, Chevrolet, Siemens, Universidad de Palermo, Papelera Ledesma, Volkswagen, Repsol YPF, among others with their different formations.
In 2001 he began to work as a soloist pianist for social and business events in the aforementioned halls and hotels.

In 2002 he wins, together with 3,14, the third prize of the Metrovías Jazz Contest with Mariano Kahayan's song "Waltz for Armenia".

2003 he participates in the jazz cycle of the York Cultural Center as a soloist pianist.

In the same year he participates in the tango and jazz cycle of the Centro Cultural General San Martín.

2005 - he joined New Pepper and Notorious as a pianist and keyboardist, a pop and disco group for parties and events in the aforementioned halls and hotels.

2006 - joins Bikelmanía and De Fiesta - Diego Bikel Producciones as keyboardist.

2006-2008 Audioperceptiva Prof. Matías Sagreras - Studio of Prof. María Laura del Pozzo.

2006 began working as a pianist and keyboardist in Bikelmanía, a high level show for parties and events, with 4 live musicians, 6 dancers, 2 singers, different scenographies, costumes and special effects.

2008-2009 arranged, directed and recorded "Cosas Maravillosas" CD of music for children and poetry together with Ana María Otatti.

2009-2012 Research studies on the piano, harmony and improvisation methods of Hal Crook, Mark Levine, Barry Harris and Andy Laverne.

2009 Digital Recording Techniques, Sequencers and VST Management Prof. Alejandro Spinelli.

He makes arrangements, recordings, orchestrations and transcriptions.

He teaches piano, keyboards, harmony, and MIDI programming classes, teaching being his vocation and one of his main activities for more than twenty years.
Currently playing and recording in different projects, together with saxophonist Pablo Puntoriero, with an experience of more than 5,000 live shows, solo piano and with different groups, devoting much of his time to his @mkq_jazz quartet.
