Bio
Joseph Perkins is a London based jazz/session guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, educator and postgraduate from City University of London, BMus(Hons), M.A with performance tuition from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He has studied guitar with Scott Henderson, Wayne Krantz and Stuart Hall.
Joseph has performed upstairs at Ronnie Scott’s (residency), Vortex Jazz Club, The Jazz Café (supporting Terence Blanchard), BBC Radio, JazzFM and for members of the Royal Family. Session credits include The X Factor winner, James Arthur and playing the music of Django Reinhardt in Jessica Swale’s film, Summerland. He has also worked as a guest lecturer, teaching Jazz improvisation at City University of London. He has performed with virtuoso violinist and pianist, Benet McLean.
Joseph is a widely experienced private music tutor (St. John’s Wood) and has previous experience in the state sector as a peripatetic and classroom teacher. He has also worked with the ABRSM as a teacher/presenter and ‘Brains & Hunch – Music For Moving Image‘.
