Bio
Emile Ryjoch is a freelance, multi award-winning saxophonist and clarinettist from Adelaide, South Australia. Born into a musical family, music has played a part in Emile’s life since he was a baby. Today, Emile is one of Adelaide’s most in demand side men, frequently performing across Adelaide in various ensembles.
He has worked in many high-profile shows with notable artists and ensembles such as the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Michael Feinstein, Kate Ceberano, John Foreman, Eddie Perfect, Ali McGregor and Em Rusciano to name a few. In 2018, Emile performed with the Charlie Rosen Broadway Big Band at Michael Feinstein’s 54/Below where Tina Fey was in attendance. He has also performed on stages such as Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), the main stage of the Adelaide 500 and The Basement (SYD).
When he isn’t performing, Emile is a passionate educator, teaching privately and throughout various schools around Adelaide. He has had multiple students be accepted into music programs such as Marryatville, Brighton and the James Morrison Academy of Music.
In 2016, Emile was awarded the The President’s Award from the Southern Jazz Club and in the same year, was selected as the Top Undergraduate Saxophone Student by the Helpmann Academy.
Emile holds a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance with first class honours from the Elder Conservatorium of Music.
