Bio
Born and educated in Hong Kong, Chris went on to complete a Bachelor of Music degree in Sydney, becoming proficient in a wide variety of contemporary styles in both guitar and bass guitar.
Some of the international artists he has played with include 60’s folk icon Judy Collins, Nicole Scherzinger of The Pussy Cat Dolls & also played regularly with Motown’s Bobby Taylor (whom originally discovered & guided the Jackson 5!).
Notably, he was the guitarist on Jacky Cheung's worldwide “1/2 Century Tour” which was the longest running pop music tour in Asian history at 146 shows with an average of audience size of 30,000 to 40,000 people.
Chris is honoured to regularly share the stage with the fantastic musicians of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong. Some of the artists that have been featured in these performances include jazz legend Michel Camilo, Sir James Galway, Davy Spillane and the hilarious duo of Igudeman & Joo.
Additionally, his original rock bands have supported two touring stadium acts (Slash & The Manic Street Preachers), he has won local competitions with his playing and writing skills and also built a recording studio to cater to Hong Kong’s ever expanding independent music scene.
An enthusiastic educator, Chris is also the Director of YRock with his partner Miriam Ma. YRock (est 2005) have been running pop songwriting & performance courses at schools all around Hong Kong.
