Bio
I am a professional guitarist. My specialization is jazz, jazz-fusion, Latin American and venezuelan music. However, I am always open to participate in other musical genres and thanks to it, I've collaborated in rock, hip-hop, r&b, pop and reggae projects. I like to take part in ensembles and propose new ideas to enrich the musical experience of those who listen and those who play it. I record guitars and make arrangements for the instrument. I work with DAWs and softwares like Cubase 8, Logic Pro X, Studio One 3, Repaer, Finale, Sibelius, and plugins of Waves Audio, Izotope, T-Racks and Kontakt.
I compose music for short films, teather plays and radio and television advertisements. My focus is on apprehending the original concept of the story, narrative or product and transforming it into sounds and harmonies to fulfill the communication and aesthetic objective of each work.
I transcribe music. I make scores for various musical genres and instruments. I transcribe popular songs or classical pieces where I write the melody of each composition together with the corresponding harmony (lead-sheet). In the same sense, I make chord charts for musicians or groups that require the exact chords of a song. I also transcribe individual or solo instruments. In either case, one audio is enough for me to start bringing the music to the staff.
On the other hand, I am a teacher of music theory, music history, and guitar. Adults and teens are my most frequent students, but I've also worked with seniors. It comforts me to confirm at the end of each class, that in education learning is reciprocal between students and teacher. Listening to the students' points of view, their reflections on the content taught and their subsequent concerns, undoubtedly enriches the learning of the subject, and allows teachers make new nuances visible to refresh the teaching methodology.
I have directed musical projects, ensembles and even choirs, where I have developed my leadership, communication, organization, respect and friendship skills.
As a natural language, music is very diverse and belongs to everyone. There are no really correct or incorrect ways of speaking it, but rather finding the precise melodies and harmonies to make us understand, together with our essence, authenticity and style.
