Bio
Yiannis Tziallas was born and raised in Athens, Greece. He began his studies in music at the age of 7.
He studied classical guitar under Evangelos Assimakopoulos and Bessy Diagoma in Nakas music school of Athens where he also studied jazz guitar under Yiotis Samaras and Yorgos Krommydas.
Upon coming across the recordings of Django Reinhard he decided to study this particular style of jazz in France.
In Paris, at the age of 28, he enrolled into Swing Romane Academy where he studied under Romane himself, Boulou Ferre, Romain Constant, Daniel John Martin, Gilles Rea, Derek Sebastian and completed the “Formation Complete Artiste Musicien” in 2011.
Since then he has attended lots of workshops and has taken private lessons with many masters of the style (Samy Daussat, Noe Reinhardt, Stephane Wrembel, Pierre Manetti).
In 2015 under the supervision of Matt Warnock he received the ALCM title in Jazz performance (Associate of the London College of Music) and in 2016 he became a member of the RGT@LCM (Registry of Guitar Tutors at London College of Music).
In 2018, while working as a music teacher at École Municipale de Musique à Saint-Witz (95470) and at École Municipale de Musique à Louvres (95380) Yiannis enrols in the Musicology department of Paris VIII University and in 2020 concludes his Masters degree in Création Musicale et Sonore with primary discipline Jazz Improvisation.
Since 2018 Yiannis Tziallas is the conductor of Parthenon Traditional Orchestra in Parthenon Dance Academy of Paris, he plays traditional Greek, Rebetiko and Mediterranean music and works as a session guitarist in various projects. He has composed music for theater and cinema and has released and produced many albums in diverse styles of music.
