Bio

I'm Haneul Kim, sometimes known online as TakashiP (usually for Videogame oriented music, or sometimes just fun midi stuff), also known as Chickalo. I'm a composer based out of Boston, and I arrange pieces to learn how different genres work, and what composers think when making some of my favorite music.

I'm currently a high school student looking forward to majoring in Music Composition (not looking forward to the formidible "low pay of artists"), and simply trying to get better. I'm trying to get hired for a videogame, but it's hard out there, you know?

Some things about me:
I play in my school's marching, concert, and jazz band.
I started composing when I was 12 on a school-issued Chromebook.
I still compose on a school-issued Chromebook (I'm getting a Mac, soon I promise).
My favorite instrument to play/improv on is the piano.
My least favorite instrument to learn new pieces on is the piano.
My favorite instrument to listen to is the piano.
My least favorite instrument to listen to is the piano (but specifically people who smash notes when you're trying to play in public).
I never plan on actually learning guitar.

Non-music relating things about me:
I write stories, usually fiction slice of life, sometimes romance, usually light sci-fi elements.
I have a game idea that will never come to fruition, yet I still work on it constantly.
I originally wanted to be an artist but realized how bad the pay was and somehow figured music would be a better option? I only do my God-awful anime art style as a hobby now.
My favorite type of food is Mexican.
I speak Spanish conversationally, Japanese barely, and three phrases in French.
Right now, AP Lang is my favorite class.
My AP Music Theory teacher has something against me.
I do Robotics in the New England FRC District.
If I had to kiss any politician, it would be Bernie Sanders.
My favorite color is sage green.
When I was one, I climbed into the family dog's crate and stared at my confused dog, who was sitting outside the gate. This is the same dog who failed puppy school twice.
My calm-down game is Minecraft and Genshin Impact.
My crashout game is Minecraft and Genshin Impact.
