Kaspars drumming style delve into jazz idiom and as well more experimental try- outs and attest to its quest for sounds and forms of improvisation. His drum sound and playing style is full with sensitive interplay, supportive grooves that suggests strong melodies and yet painting qualities. Kaspars Kurdeko has sought out and followed every opportunity to learn, listen, play and write music. Kaspars graduated Masters degree in Jazz department in Amsterdam,Netherlands and studied in Manhattan school of music with John Riley and Justin DiCoccio.
Kaspars is performing and composing musician in different musical formations internationally. As a composer he has done music for films ("The Foundation of Criminal Excellence" 2018), Single act ballet “Never Tales” 2019 (premiere Latvian
National Opera and Ballet), music for contemporary dance play “Divotne”. As of his own musical formations - his quartet "Deko Motion” In Netherlands,Amsterdam 2010 won prestigious prize "Keep an Eye Jazz Award” and Best Jazz Musician Prize. Recently, his experimental improvisation trio “KlusiKlusi” released Vinyl record under label “Jersika records” 2018.
Kaspars is a drum and ensemble teacher in PIKC Ventspils music highschool.
He has performed with such artists/groups as Spyros Manesis Trio(GR), Dominic J Marshall Trio (UK), Treestones jazz quartet (Baltic states) Francesco Bearzatti (FR), Toms Rudzinskis (LV), Cremeratta Baltica (Gidon Kremer), Seamus Blake (USA) and many others.
