Bio

Although I had a guitar teacher as a kid, I was not ready to start swimming in the deep end back then, so the lessons did not go much beyond showing me the cover songs I wanted to learn. However, he did turn me on the broader concepts in music theory, ear-training, and shredding! (Did I mention Shrapnel Records?) It took me a number of years, but I am now fairly confident in transcribing by ear, arranging sheet music, and being able to write out my own songs. My interests range from Renaissance and Baroque music to metal, but I am borderline obsessed with the music of J.S. Bach…. I have also been talking about buckling down and learning jazz guitar for a decade or more, but I have not gotten around to it with the demands on my time. I play with Renegade Train, playing both covers and originals. We recently released our first single, which is available on all of the streaming platforms.
