Bio
Born and raised mostly in New Jersey, I graduated high school in Butler Co. Ohio, then went to college at GWU in Washington, DC. Post college I lived in semi-rural Loudoun Co. Virginia where I had the good fortune to fall in with a great mandolin teacher who turned me on to festivals and jamming and a world of great music. Since then, I've moved to NYC and continued to explore Bluegrass, Old Time, Celtic -- playing what catches my ear with an eye to what is popular in jams.
YouTube is a great source for material, and Soundslice is amazing as a transcription tool. I'm somewhat torn about whether to publish because, if you asked me, I'd advise you to transcribe your own tunes. It is an amazing way to learn technique, and the actually transcibing is kind of fun. I don't want to deny you the pleasure. But if you are here, you probably know what I mean.
