Bio
Born in 1976 in Italy.
At the age of seven he began learning music attending the piano class at Bergamo Music Academy “S. Cecilia”.
Having acquired the first piano and clarinet experience, he studied at Milan Conservatory “Giuseppe Verdi” and got a diploma in percussion instruments and jazz music.
At the same time he was attending the traditional composition course for four years.
He became the third place winner at the First International Competition in Composition and Playing Percussion Instruments and Drums in Fermo.
He participated in different master classes, seminars and upgrading courses and got acquainted with David Searcy, David Friedmann, Rud Winer and other famous musicians.
He is working in the field of jazz as a vibraphonist and a composer. In 1999 he was selected as an A.M. J. National Grand Orchestra vibraphonist.
In 2001 he attended Senesi di Jazz seminars held by Stefano Battaglia and Franco D’Andrea and in 1996 and in 1997 he participated in seminars held by David Friedmann, Andrea Dulbecco and Saverio Tasca so as to specialise in music and jazz improvisation.
He is writing music for different music bands ranging from duets to octets and records various Cds under his name.
He is playing together with the pianist Luca Garro in Pingar Duo. Jointly with this pianist he extends classical jazz repertoire, but beyond all, the band loves playing their original compositions. The duo finished in first place in Milan Blue Note Festival (Young Artists Section) and was given the first place at Brescia Jazz in Live Contest.
The Pingar Duo recorded Over the Frantic disc (Abeat Records) which was largely acclaimed by critics.
Francesco Pinetti is a leader of FP Ensemble that took part in different jazz festivals and recorded discs such as Suono Selvatico (Wild Sound, Velut Luna) and Suono di Fusione (Fusion Sound , Music Center).
He is also a leader of FPQ. This quartet has produced the FPQ disc (Music Center) alongside with internationally renowned musicians such as Yuri Goloubev, Marco Zanoli, Max Pizio and Alberto Capelli.
After having collaborated with a famous trumpeter Giovanni Falzone for many years, in 2009 Francesco Pinetti became a member of different Italian jazz bands and at present he is performing together with them.
He is cooperating as a polyinstrumentalist/percussionist with Nick Comoglio who has involved him into his prog/rock music band Syndone. Together they have recorded the disc Mela Pesante (Heavy Apple, Electromantic).
During several years Francesco Pinetti has been on concert tours abroad in such countries as Norway, Ukraine, China, Austria, Holland, UK.
Undoubtedly his reseach focus is music without labels. He likes creating well-defined compositions that leave the freedom for a performer to improvise.
