Major Scale Modes For Guitar

Scales? Everybody knows some scales, but do you really know them? This course divides the guitar neck into 7 sections (or positions) and lays out all the fingerings for the modes within the major scale.

We'll cover each of these modes with their own video.
Ionian
Mixolydian
Dorian
Aeolian
Phrygian
Locrian
Lydian

We use common fingerings throughout, minimizing the amount of new material you have to learn between the modes. This technique also helps us understand the fundamental and incremental differences between the scales and helps you map those out on the fretboard. Multiple videos with different points of view are available for each lesson.

This course is designed to improve your fundamental skills of the fretboard and to help you build the muscle memory required for improvisation and composition. All the exercises use the same tonic, C. Of course, you are encouraged to transpose them to all keys to gain the full benefit of the exercise.
