The 11 etudes presented here are all based on chord progressions of essential jazz standards, providing a foundation for playing jazz.

①全てのエチュードはそれぞれ２ページで構成されています。
エチュードを実際に練習する際には、特に初心者の方はまず、1ページ目を心地よく吹けるようになることを目標にしましょう。管楽器や弦楽器を練習する場合は、ロングトーンの練習を兼ねて、一音一音を丁寧に美しく奏でることに注意し、次の音との繋がりをスムーズにするよう心がけましょう。

All etudes consist of two pages each.
When practicing the etudes, especially for beginners, aim to master the first page comfortably. For wind and string instruments, use this as an opportunity for long-tone practice, paying attention to tone quality and pitch accuracy while playing each note meticulously and connecting them smoothly.


②慣れてきたら、コードの知識がある方は、コードの他の構成音やテンションノートに置き換えて、自分でシンプルなラインやメロディー、コンピングパターン（pianoやguitarの方）を作ってみましょう。（私のレッスンではこの練習を通じて、コードやスケールについての理解を深めていただきます）

Once you become more accustomed, those with knowledge of chords can try substituting other chord tones or tension notes to create simple line, melodies or comping pattern (if you are pianist or guitarist) on your own. (In my lessons, I use this exercise to deepen understanding of chords and scales.)



③1ページ目の後半から2ページ目にかけては、様々なモチーフを発展させるアドリブアプローチ（motivic development)、ビバップのメロディーに代表されるような次々と異なるフレージングが積み重なるアドリブアプローチ（through composed)を用いたアドリブ例や、典型的なジャズのフレーズ(licks)を多数取り入れています。

初心者の方は、2ページ目がまだ難しいと感じた場合は、一旦練習を中断し、次のエチュードに進んでください。全ての曲の1ページ目が吹けるようになったら、最初に戻って2ページ目に挑戦してみましょう。
中・上級者の方は、自身の演奏スタイルとして定着させるまで、繰り返し練習してみましょう。最初は書かれているテンポよりもゆっくりから始め、美しい演奏ができるようになったら徐々にテンポを上げてみましょう。また、上級者の方は、気に入ったフレーズを全てのキーで演奏できるように練習してみましょう。


From the latter half of the first page to the second page, examples of improvisation are included using motifs for development and through-composed improvisation, as well as incorporating numerous typical jazz licks.


If the second page feels challenging for beginners, pause practicing and move on to the next etude. Once you can play all the first pages of the 11 songs, return to the beginning and try the second pages.

For intermediate and advanced players, repeat practicing until phrases become ingrained in your playing style. Begin at a slower tempo than indicated and gradually increase it as you achieve beautiful execution. Furthermore, advanced players should practice their favorite phrases in all 12 keys.
