Intrigued by the music of Django Reinhardt and gypsy jazz? Or maybe you’re just looking to learn some interesting new guitar chords? This is the course for you.
Warning: these ain’t your standard barre chords. It’s lots of 6/9’s and exotic voicings you’ve probably never come across if you play rock/pop/blues music.
In this collection of video lessons, you’ll learn all the commonly used chord shapes in gypsy jazz music, aka “gypsy swing.” For each chord type (major, minor, dominant, etc.), Adrian will show you a couple different ways to play it, along with specific tips on fingering.
The course is taught in a progressive manner. Along the way, you’ll learn some common chord progressions used in this style, putting your new chords to work immediately. And you’ll get tips on how to practice, plus advice on when to use which chord voicing and how to interpret chord charts in this style. When you’re done with the course (and with practice!), you’ll be ready to sound “in the style.”
