Troubleshooting: Notation is too small
You’re viewing music in Soundslice, but the notation is too small. What can you do?
Change the zoom
Open the player settings and change the zoom level. This will make the notation bigger.
Disable stave breaks
Open the player settings and uncheck “Respect author’s stave breaks.” See this help page for more info.
If you’re viewing a slice you’ve created yourself, you can delete the stave breaks outright. Use the “Reset all line breaks” command in our editor (see here).
Provide more horizontal space
If you’ve disabled (or cleared) stave breaks and your notation is still too small, this means our graphics engine has automatically decided the notation must be made smaller in order to fit the available space. (Otherwise the notes would be too close together and hard to read.) This usually happens if you have at least one bar of music that contains lots of notes.
Here’s what you can do in this situation:
- Rearrange the player so that the music has more available horizontal space. For example: if there’s a video, move it above the notation (see Changing video position).
- Use Horizontal layout.
