Using multiple voices
Creating notation with multiple voices in Soundslice is easy.
By default, your notation will be entered into voice 1. To notate in a different voice, click a number in the upper right of the editor:
While you work in one voice, note/rests in other voices will appear in light gray to help you focus on the current voice.
Stem directions
In multiple-voice music, Soundslice will automatically change notes’ stem directions appropriately. For fine-grained control over stem directions, you can use our engraving options.
Rest positions
We’ll automatically move rests up or down to communicate whether they’re in the top or bottom voice. See “Moving a rest up and down” on this page for info on how to tweak a rest’s vertical position.
Can I copy and paste notation from multiple voices all at the same time?
Not yet. That’s something we’d like to allow for in the future. Right now, you need to copy and paste each voice separately.
Can I move a note from one voice to another?
Not yet. For the moment, you’ll need to cut and paste notes between voices manually.
